Yesterday they’ve elected chair, deputy chair and secretariat.Their first session was today, shortly after the meeting commenced the SW acting speaker and his deputy tabled two new articles to add the already endorsed rules and procedures.
1- letter from the courts to confirm the good conduct of the candidates ( targeted for Robow)
2- Candidates for Digil not to contest to protect local power sharing ( targeted for Digil candidates).
The SWA become proxy for the FGS and tried to pressure the EC, so far they’ve refused and said as per parliament resolution on Saturday the new EC will work and use the last rules and procedures and will keep as it is.
They said also they will only change the schedule and aim the election to be held on the 28 with two days registration and one day the candidates to speak before the parliament, their meeting concluded today @ about 4.00 PM today.
The worrying part it is that the acting President of SW Mr Shekhuna summoned all the members of the EC and as we speak they are in a meeting with him and is pressing them to change their idea.
This is clear violation of the rules and procedures and also the constitution, this is clearly FGS aid meddling the affairs and afraid this will pave new wave of conflict and political instability in the region, if this continues the new EC will resign and that is what the FGS wants to justify for them to send National electoral commission. SW is in the brink of collapse.
This is what we have been expecting to happen !
